La Costa Diamonds

How do La Costa’s lab-grown and mined diamonds compare?

At La Costa, we craft 1–4ct diamonds to ignite your dreams—our lab-grown gems cost up to 90% less than mined diamonds thanks to direct-to-consumer pricing. A 3ct E–VS1 IGI-certified lab-grown diamond (pure, brilliant, invisible inclusions) shines at $2,500–$5,000, while a similar GIA-certified mined diamond costs $25,000–$50,000. Both offer dazzling clarity—lab-grown deliver unmatched value, while mined embody luxurious rarity.

What makes La Costa’s diamonds and materials special?

Our premium lab-grown radiant diamonds (E color, VVS clarity, excellent cut) are IGI/GIA certified and set in solid gold, platinum, or sterling silver. Each custom design exudes brilliance, sustainability, and timeless elegance—crafted responsibly from conflict-free suppliers and designed exclusively for you.

How does the custom design process work?

After approval, you’ll try a sterling silver and crystal sample to ensure an ideal fit and style—before your diamond masterpiece is crafted.

What’s included in the $399 Design Fee and payment terms?

The $399 fee includes your private consultation, sketches, digital design, and sterling silver/crystal sample. When you order the final piece, the sample becomes yours as a free gift. To produce your diamond masterpiece, a 75% deposit starts fabrication; the remaining 25% is due upon delivery. Payments are non-refundable due to the bespoke nature of each piece.

Design Your Diamond Piece

Can I see or keep my sample before ordering the diamond version?

Absolutely! You’ll receive a sterling silver and crystal sample to evaluate fit and design. Proceed with your diamond order, and it’s yours to keep for free—perfect for travel or as a keepsake. If you don’t proceed, you may purchase the sample at a fair production-based price.

Is the design exclusively mine?

Yes. Once you order your final diamond piece, the design becomes exclusively yours. If you choose not to proceed, La Costa may retain and repurpose the design for future creations.

What does the Lifetime Warranty cover?

Our Lifetime Warranty protects lab-grown diamond jewelry set in solid gold or platinum against manufacturing defects. Maintain coverage with bi-annual jeweler checkups for cleaning and tightening, and keep proof of service. Excludes normal wear, loss, theft, accidents, alterations, and silver pieces. Warranty is non-transferable and exclusive to the original owner.

How should I clean my diamond jewelry at home?

To maintain the brilliance of your diamonds and the integrity of the metal, we recommend a gentle cleaning method: Soak your piece in warm water with mild soap for 10–20 minutes, then softly brush with a clean, soft-bristle brush, focusing on the setting and underside of the stone. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth.

Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or household cleaners, as they can damage the metal and compromise your piece’s finish and warranty.

How often should I clean and service my jewelry?

For optimal shine, clean your jewelry at home every 1–2 weeks (or as needed, depending on wear). We recommend a professional cleaning and inspection every 6–12 months to ensure stones remain secure and the setting is in perfect condition—this is often essential to maintain warranty coverage.

When should I remove my diamond jewelry?

While diamonds are exceptionally durable, your jewelry should be removed during activities that may cause impact or exposure to chemicals, such as:

  • Exercising, swimming, or heavy lifting
  • Cleaning or using household products
  • Applying lotions, perfumes, or hairspray

These can dull the stone’s brilliance or weaken the metal over time.

How should I store my diamond jewelry?

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratching—diamonds can scratch other jewelry and even each other.

Avoid leaving pieces loose in bags or drawers, and remove jewelry before sleeping to protect the setting and prongs

Will caring for lab-grown diamonds differ from mined diamonds?

No. Lab-grown and mined diamonds share the same physical and optical properties, sotheyrequireidentical care. The key is preserving the setting, keeping the stone clean, and avoiding unnecessary wear or impact.
